5th Annual Australia National EA/PA Conference 2017

5th Annual Australia National EA/PA Conference 2017

If you’re one of the lucky Office Professionals who are allocated a yearly training budget one of the hardest things to work out is where to allocate the funding and what conferences, events, workshops or courses you will attend or take. Alternatively, if you don’t have a budget and take the important step to invest in yourself, then the same problem can occur.

First, it is important to know what sort of training you need and your best style of learning.

If conferences are what motivates and inspires you to take immediate action, then be sure to take the time to plan and make the most of them.

A conference not to be missed!

The 5th Annual Australia National EA/PA Conference run by Clariden Global was held in Melbourne and Sydney on the 10th-12th and 19-21st April respectively. I was honoured to have been asked to attend the Sydney event held at the Radisson Blu hotel in the Sydney CBD.

What a fabulous event it was!

From the minute, I walked into the registration area to meet the organisers, to sitting comfortably in the conference room everything was so well placed and not to mention perfectly organised.

Organisation, class and the right speakers at heart

Alongside the great organisation of the event and the comfortable conference room, the mix of professional speakers including fellow EA’s and PA’s flowed seamlessly from one speaker to the next.

The mix of professional speakers included Lizzie Wagner, Ros Cardinal, Dermont Crowley, Vicky Bouranis and fellow EA’s and PA’s, most of who were braving taking the stage for the very first time. It was their insights, knowledge and life experiences that helped to tie everything together and made the conference more beneficial.

After the first day, it felt as though everyone was great friends and it was nice to know so many others in our profession are or have been in similar situations AND have survived!

The networking opportunities at break times provided plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow EA’s and PA’s and share more ideas about the things we had just heard about or even talk about challenges within their own workplace.

Loads to take away

Two days filled with inspirational speakers as well as meeting lots of fellow EA’s and PA’s can certainly overload the brain with things you want to implement or try out in various situations at work. I recommend that you grab a notepad and take as many notes as possible so that you can match up with the presentations that you are provided with after the event.

Overall, I absolutely loved this conference and feel that taking the time out to attend is well worth the time and investment for not only a senior or veteran EA/PA but even new or aspiring EA’s and PA’s.

Stay Tuned for next year’s event

The team at Clarinden Global are starting to organise next year’s event now so be sure to pop over to their website and sign up to receive updates for the next events. I promise you, you won’t want to miss it!

I hope to meet you there!
