[ Project Management ]

David is the Principal of a Brisbane based consultancy practice with a passion for helping businesses deliver outstanding performance. Over many years David has developed a hands on approach to assisting managers unleash the full potential of their teams to deliver project outcomes. David’s customised, innovative processes “accelerate projects by facilitating meaningful and productive conversations to allow teams to focus, make decisions and take action”. This means projects on time, on budget and with the right scope.

David has facilitated hundreds of workshops, including workshops for global businesses with diverse organisations over multiple locations. This work includes:

  • Business improvement projects using methodologies such as Six Sigma and Change Management to increase performance
  • Sustaining capital projects and Major growth projects where he helps to enhance the project lifecycle using best practice facilitation scenarios.

David’s purpose is to support managers to unleash the full potential of their teams to deliver project outcomes using the Leaders Success Factors.

Early on, he came to understand that people are the solution to success. This became his focus and led to initially publishing ‘The adaptive workplace – facilitating change’ and then his book and project companion, ‘Facilitating for success – a manager’s guide to projects’. Then creating the book ‘Project success through leadership – How a technical manager transitions into a highly effective leader’. David’s latest book is Building Project Acceptance – A quick reference handbook to monitoring your project’s health’. David also delivers an engineering masters program on stakeholder engagement for a local university.

David started his career as an apprentice fitter and turner in the automotive industry and has increased his knowledge and skills with an honours degree in mechanical engineering, a graduate diploma in industrial relations and as an accredited Six Sigma Black Belt.

His work has included human resources, mine planning, operations, processing, rail infrastructure and maintenance improvement projects. He has also led a number of operational readiness studies at each stage of the project lifecycle.
